- Morgan and Ashleigh Murray, who portrayed Josie McCoy, spoke about the sidelining of black characters in both Riverdale and the film industry in general.[4]

- On May 31, 2020, Morgan pushed for pay parity and equal screentime, criticizing the show for making black characters "sidekicks." Morgan, however, clarified she's not blaming her castmates.[5]

- On December 19, 2020, Morgan left on maternity leave and thanked showrunners and producers for being accommodating to her needs and writing her pregnancy into the show. [7]
