You're wrong about Lodge. When Hiram left town, he made us a deal. As long as we keep doing what he asked, he'll make a monthly deposit into a private account for us from a third-party bank, of course.

Throughout Riverdale[]

Season 6[]

Waging war with the Serpents[]

Twyla meets with Toni and Fangs, who propose a cease fire. With Hiram Lodge gone and the feds tracking him down, there's no one funding their crew. However, Twyla reveals that before Hiram left town, he made them a deal. So, as long as they keep doing what he asks, he'll make a monthly deposit into a private account for them. In exchange for his payment, all they have to do is destroy Riverdale and kill Archie. Twyla only took this meeting out of courtesy and to see what threat the Serpents pose. From the looks of it, they're not much of a threat at all. However, not long after their meeting, Twyla and the Ghoulies are confronted by Archie, who brutally beats her crew.[1]

Twyla calls Toni

After shooting up Pop's in retaliation for her men being attacked by Archie, Twyla abducts Baby Anthony from his room at Percival's behest and calls Toni to inform her that she has Anthony. Unbeknownst to Toni, Twyla is being controlled by Percival, who holds the baby in his arms while Twyla arranges a shoot out. The Serpents vs. the Ghoulies. The winner takes Riverdale. Toni agrees to meet her only under the condition that Twyla delivers baby Anthony to Pop's. And once she gets word from Tabitha that Anthony is safe, only then Will she fight. However, Percival has no intention of letting the shoot out actually happen and forces the Ghoulies to kill themselves, though Twyla does manage to escape.[2]

The Sweet Hereafter[]

Twyla appears in Toni and Fangs' heaven, which consists of a peace treaty between the Serpents and the Ghoulies, signifying the end of the gang war.[3]

Under Percival's control[]

Twyla is back

Twyla is mind controlled by Percival, who helps her recruit new members for the Ghoulies. She questions why Percival would so willingly give Archie and Veronica the bodies of their dead. Percival explains that Archie and the gang ruined his plans for the dead, so he's simply repaying the favor by removing their heads. Twyla expresses her concern about the army to Percival. While he may be controlling them, they're not battle tested. Percival explains that Twyla and the Ghoulies are merely pawns in his war. Just then, the Serpents, led by Toni and Fangs, infiltrate the Babylonium and attack the Ghoulies. Twyla grabs a gun, but before she can pull the trigger, Toni disarms her, throwing two shurikens in Twyla's face.[4]

Season 7[]

Twyla in 1955

In 1955, Twyla Twyst is hired by Sheriff Keller through Julian Blossom hoping that having sex with her would "fix" Kevin. However, once at the motel, Kevin gets cold feet. When Archie comes to his rescue, Twyla assumes they're boyfriends. Julian claims that on his sixteenth birthday, his father who is also the town mayor, paid Twyla to have sex with him.[5]

Twyla chuckles at seeing Archie again with a new friend and asks who wants to be first or if they want to do it together. The boys both enter the motel room where they have their first time with Twyla.[6]

Twyla laughs off Archie's proposal to date. Twyla says she doesn't mind helping out a man in need, but she doesn't have long-term relationships, especially not with puppy-eyed kids. She grants Archie he's a Red Delicious but still slams the door in his face after taking his flowers.[7]

Physical Appearance[]

Twyla is an older woman with short brown hair, green eyes, and light skin. She tends to wear a fair bit of jewelry and has a Ghoulies tattoo near her left collarbone.

Personality[]

Twyla is a cunning and opportunistic figure whose actions are driven by survival, power, and allegiance to those who can offer her the most. As the leader of the Ghoulies, she is fiercely loyal to her gang, but her true motivations often lie in self-preservation and aligning with the strongest force in play.

In her dealings with the Serpents, Twyla initially rejects the idea of a ceasefire, demonstrating her confidence and strategic thinking. With financial backing from Hiram Lodge, she commits to carrying out his violent agenda, including an assassination attempt on Archie Andrews. Even when the Ghoulies suffer heavy losses at Archie’s hands, Twyla remains undeterred, retaliating with an attack on Pop’s and later orchestrating a shootout under Percival Pickens’ control. Despite being manipulated by Percival, Twyla displays resilience, managing to escape the mass suicide of her gang and later continuing to rebuild the Ghoulies under his influence.

While she often operates under external control—first by Hiram and later by Percival—Twyla retains a level of skepticism and pragmatism, questioning Percival’s strategies and expressing concern about the strength of his recruits. However, her defiance is ultimately met with a brutal downfall when she is fatally disarmed by Toni Topaz during a final confrontation.

In an alternate timeline set in 1955, Twyla takes on a very different role as a prostitute, demonstrating a transactional and detached approach to relationships. She is hired under the misguided belief that she can “fix” Kevin Keller, but she quickly picks up on the dynamics between Kevin and Archie. Twyla’s interactions with Archie highlight her lack of emotional attachment—she is amused by his romantic proposal but dismisses him outright, making it clear that she does not engage in relationships beyond business.

Throughout all versions of her character, Twyla is defined by her street-smart attitude, survival instincts, and a willingness to play whatever role is necessary to stay ahead. Whether as a gang leader, a mercenary under Percival’s command, or a woman making her own way in 1955, Twyla remains a calculating and hardened figure who navigates Riverdale’s underworld on her own terms.
