Season 1 Episode 2 A Touch of Evil Pep Rally Clayton Mayor

Coach Clayton and Mayor McCoy at Pep Rally

Before the Pep Rally kicks off, Mayor McCoy joins Mr. Weatherbee and Coach Clayton on stage to thank everyone in attendance. She is gladdened by the turn-out. A lack of heart and school spirit has never been the Riverdale way, even in spite of the weather and mysterious death of Jason Blossom. She reminds the crowd that the pep-rally is like no other they've had before, which is why she dedicates the evening to the memory of Jason Blossom. She then welcomes the River Vixens and Josie and the Pussycats to the stage to perform. [1]

Taste of Riverdale[]

Mayor McCoy welcomes everyone to the first annual Taste of Riverdale. The event taking place proves that Riverdale is a town that when tragedy strikes, they pick themselves back up. After her speech, Sierra approaches Clifford and Penelope just to check in on how they're dealing with Jason's death, but she finds herself on the end of a snarky reply from Penelope instead. [2]

Season 1 Episode 4 The Last Picture Show Mayor Sierra McCoy and Jughead

Jughead and Mayor McCoy

Mayor McCoy apologizes to Jughead as there is nothing she can do in stopping the demolition of the Twilight Drive-In. Good riddance, the drive-in is a blight that's become a cesspool and a hangout for criminals and transients alike. On top of that, the deal was done. Andrews Construction is scheduled to demolish the lot on Monday. Hoping to reason with her, Jughead tells Mayor McCoy about his special connection to the drive-in; when he was a kid, his family would go to the drive-in all the time. They couldn't afford tickets for everyone, so he and his sister, Jellybean, would hide in the trunk until they parked. While she appreciates the sentiment, there is still nothing the mayor can do.

Mayor McCoy later receives a secret donation from Hermione Lodge towards Mayor McCoy's re-election campaign in exchange for Lodge Industries getting the Twilight Drive-In, one of the most prime pieces of real estate in Riverdale. No one can know that Mayor McCoy helped push the deal along, especially not the Blossoms. Hermione promises that her secret will be safe so long as the Mayor holds up her end of the bargain.[3]

Annual Variety Show[]

Season 1 Episode 6 Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill! Mayor Sierra McCoy begging Josie to find a new member

Sierra pleading with Josie

Upon learning that Valerie had quit the Pussycats, Sierra believes the best solution is to replace her, as everyone is replaceable, with the exception of Josie. With Josie's father attending their performance at the Variety Show, she would hate for Josie to let him down, especially since he had to cancel two concerts. She insists that Josie find a new member, someone skinny, beautiful, and of color.

Season 1 Episode 6 Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill! Mayor Sierra McCoy can't grant the bid

Sierra can't grant Fred the deal

Sierra is invited over for dinner by Fred Andrews and Hermione Lodge in an attempt for them to plead his case for the construction contract of the land that once housed the Twilight Drive-In. The topic of discussion changes several times throughout the night before ending with Fred's bid, one that Sierra is more than willing to grant him, as she describes Fred as a working man who lives in the real world and finds his bid refreshing. However, the buyer is already in the process of accepting another bid, and it would take two share-holder signatures to stop the process and the chances of that happening were fairly unlikely.

The night of the Variety Show has finally come. Sierra and Myles sit in the audience, as Josie and the Pussycats perform on stage. Sierra thoroughly enjoys her daughter's performance. Myles, on the other hand, is left unimpressed, as he exits the event halfway through the performance. After the show, she finds Josie in tears, so Sierra hugs her tight. [4]

Homecoming & Homicide[]

Season 1 Episode 11 To Riverdale and Back Again Sierra McCoy on stage

Mayor McCoy at Homecoming

Mayor McCoy and Mr. Weatherbee approach Betty Cooper during the Homecoming dance, hoping to review the evening's itinerary. She requests that Betty escort her up to the stage, however, Betty is fairly preoccupied, handing the duty off to Principal Weatherbee. Sierra then welcomes Archie and Veronica to the stage for their performance. Afterward, she is notified by Sheriff Keller that FP Jones was arrested for the murder of Jason Blossom.[5]

Mayor McCoy and Sheriff Keller are interrupted by Alice Cooper, who enters her office at the Town Hall baring a USB drive, which contains surveillance video of Jason Blossom's murder. Upon watching the video, they discover that FP Jones is not the killer despite his initial confession. Jason was killed by Clifford in the basement of the Whyte Wyrm.[6]

75th Anniversary Jubilee[]

The murder of Jason Blossom has revealed several dark truths, none of which Mayor McCoy is eager to face, as she screams at Sheriff Keller to destroy every last trace of corruption.

Season 1 Episode 13 The Sweet Hereafter Mayor Sierra McCoy and Mr

Mayor McCoy wants to honor Archie and Betty

In the days leading up to the 75th Anniversary Jubilee, Mayor McCoy approaches Archie and Betty with an offer to feature them both at the event. Mayor McCoy seeks to honor them for their bravery and their hand in solving Jason's case. The Pussycats will be performing at the Jubilee, and Mayor McCoy is hoping that Archie will join them. In Betty's case, considering the troubling times that Riverdale has endured, Mayor McCoy thought it best if the town hears from their best and brightest. What of Jughead, Archie asks. He played a large hand in solving Jason's case as well. Mayor McCoy admits that while she likes Jughead and that he is welcome to attend, with FP in jail, he will not be brought on stage because she wants to avoid any controversy.

The night of the Jubilee has finally arrived. Mayor McCoy welcomes all to the Town Hall in celebration of the town's 75th anniversary. She introduces Josie and her Pussycats, alongside Archie. Much to her surprise, Josie and Archie will not be playing the song she had previously signed off on. Instead, they play one of his sings. Initially upset and confused, she comes around to enjoy the song as the crowd applauds their performance. Unfortunately, the Jubilee goes a bit off the rails, as Betty gives her speech in front of the entire town, accusing them all of writing off FP Jones and being so quick to place the blame on him. Betty goes on to explain that the town is at a crossroads and that each of them need to do better or else what happened to Jason won't be the last. From backstage, Mayor McCoy doesn't look too pleased. In fact, she looked discourages, perhaps at her own behavior.[7]
