|“||So, Hiram Lodge's master plan has something to do with your old stomping ground, Shankshaw. I tried calling the warden a dozen times but he hasn't called me back.||”|
Shankshaw Prison is a state penitentiary located in Riverdale. It's where FP Jones served his time for his role in Jason Blossom's death. In "Chapter Twenty-Eight: There Will Be Blood", Jughead and FP visited an inmate named War Baby. From him they learned of Hiram Lodge's plan to build a private, for-profit prison on the land that once housed Southside High.

- The name of the prison is a reference and homage to Shawshank Prison, the titular prison from Stephen King's novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption and its 1994 film adaptation directed by Frank Darabont.
