“ | This isn't the first time one of you Bulldogs has come in here, looking to 'cause trouble. | ” |
Mustang was a recurring character on The CW's Riverdale. He was portrayed by Christopher Rosamond.
Mustang was a member of the Southside Serpents and accomplice to Jason's murder by Cliff Blossom. As an eyewitness, he was murdered by Cliff in an effort to cover up his own tracks. He was found dead in the City Centre Motor Hotel. Initially, it was believed that Mustang died of an overdose, but upon further examination, it was determined that this was not the case.
Early Life
Very little is known of Mustang's life. He resided on the south side of town in City Centre Motor Hotel, and sometime prior to the start of the series he joined the Southside Serpents, a dangerous biker gang of criminals and thugs.
Throughout Riverdale
Season 1
Serpents vs Bulldogs
As he minded his business at the Whyte Wyrm, Mustang was approached by Archie Andrews, who asked if he liked beating up on kids. Mustang had been mistaken for another individual they were looking for, but he had no problem with granting Archie's death wish. He recalled the last time a Bulldog came into the bar looking for trouble, which presumably was a reference to Jason Blossom, so he pushed Archie, but then Archie pushed back. Unfortunately for the teen, he was outmuscled and thrown onto the pool table, but FP Jones, the leader of the Southside Serpents, broke up the fight before matters got any worse. [1]
Torturing Jason Blossom
According to Joaquin DeSantos, a fellow Serpent, Mustang was the only person besides him and FP that was aware of the cleanup of Jason Blossom's body, following his murder inside the basement of the Whyte Wyrm. Sometime after, he and FP were spotted by Joaquin talking about some rich guy, possibly Hiram Lodge. Mustang had been living at the City Centre Motor Hotel. It was there that his body was discovered in a bathtub by Archie, Veronica, Kevin, and Joaquin. Upon making this discovery, they contacted the police, who suspected that Mustang was not only involved in Jason's murder, but was feeling the heat in the wake of FP's arrest, so it was possible he committed suicide via overdose. Although, it was later discovered that Clifford Blossom was responsible for the death of Mustang, making it look like a suicide, for he was there when Mr. Blossom killed his son, Jason.
Video surveillance of the Whyte Wyrm from the night that Jason died revealed that Mustang tortured and taunted Jason after tying him up to a chair in the basement. [2]
Physical Appearance
Mustang was a middle age man of medium height with pale skin, blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. He only had one on-screen appearance, meaning knowledge on his wardrobe is limited, but what is known is that he dressed like the typical Southside Serpents, ragged clothing accompanied by a standard Serpent leather jacket. At first glance, he came off as a dangerous biker, which is precisely what he was.
Personality
Due to having such a small role, there is not much known of Mustang's personality, but from what was seen, he was a ruthless thug, who is quickly aggravated. Mustang did not hesitate in his attack towards Archie Andrews, suggesting that he has no problem with beating up kids. However, this should not come as much of a surprise because he was a member of the Southside Serpents.
