This article is about the speakeasy owned by Veronica Lodge. You may be looking for the Whyte Wyrm, the club opened in its place and owned by the reformed Southside Serpents.

Welcome to La Bonne Nuit. I've hired some of the Serpents from the Whyte Wyrm to serve drinks. Mocktails only. La Bonne Nuit is not in the business of corrupting minors.

La Bonne Nuit was a non-alcoholic speakeasy located underneath Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. It was secretly owned by Hiram Lodge, who pretended to sell Pop's to Veronica, who set up and ran the speakeasy under the impression that she owned it. Veronica worked with the FBI to have Hiram arrested and subsequently, Hermione and Veronica gained co-ownership of Pop's and La Bonne Nuit, despite the fact that Veronica was a minor and legally couldn't own anything. It was later purchased from Hiram by the reformed Southside Serpents, lead by Toni Topaz and now operates as a bar called Whyte Wyrm.

History[]

After gaining possession of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe through a property exchange with her father, Veronica learned from Pop Tate that the basement of the diner used to be a secret speakeasy circa the 1920s, the days of flapper dresses and cigarette girls. With this in mind, she decided to reopen it as a space for world-class entertainment and a place for both North and Southsiders alike.

Veronica hired Reggie as a bartender, and together they welcomed Josie and Kevin to join them. Veronica proposed Josie to be the lead singer of the speakeasy, which she accepted since she was working on her solo career and this gave her a chance to try new things. Kevin was hired as the emcee on the condition that he could sing too sometime.

In short time, the speakeasy became an exclusive hangout spot for Riverdale adults and teens. Veronica had to hire bouncers and received protection from the Southside Serpents. In order to stay afloat, Veronica has organized several casino nights with Reggie's help.

For the first of these casino nights, Veronica asked for help from Elio Grande, the son of one of the mobsters in business with her dad. However, when Elio tried to steal the venue from Veronica, she double-crossed him with a tip from Hiram.

When Veronica was struggling to manage the speakeasy due to the Ghoulies dealing Fizzle Rocks and townsfolk obsessed with Gryphons and Gargoyles, she and Reggie were forced to make a deal with Gladys Jones after Veronica blew up the negotiations between Gladys and Hermione about drug sales. This, however, led both Gladys and Hiram to behave like the owners of the speakeasy, forcing Veronica to ask Toni and her Pretty Poisons for help to prevent the two from entering. To keep Gladys on good terms after Reggie tried to get his car back, which Gladys kept as collateral for the money Veronica owed her, Veronica offered to host FP Jones' birthday party for free. Veronica's attitude eventually pushed Reggie to quit when she refused to have him as a business partner rather than an employee.

Veronica kept the speakeasy open until she left Riverdale to go to Barnard Collage in New York City and returned ownership to Pop Tate. Some time later, Hiram regained ownership over it and the venue was later purchased by Toni Topaz and the Serpents, and transformed into the new Whyte Wyrm.
