Kiernan Shipka

Kiernan Brennan Shipka is an American actress. She portrays Sabrina Spellman and Sabrina Morningstar on Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. She reprised her role on The CW's Riverdale.^[1]

On January 9, 2018, Shipka received a congratulatory tweet on her casting in the Netflix series from Melissa Joan Hart, who also portrayed Sabrina Spellman in the 1990s sitcom entitled Sabrina the Teenage Witch.^[2]
In real life, Shipka is allergic to cats. She made this discovery when she broke out in hives after picking up one of the five cats that play Salem during the first month on set.^[3]
Shipka is a huge fan of The CW's Riverdale, and prior to her appearance in the sixth season, she voiced her support of an eventual crossover between it and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.^[4]
Shipka was initially considered for the role of Betty Cooper on The CW's Riverdale by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, but she was considered too young for it. However, Lili Reinhart went on to be cast in the role. However, Aguirre-Sacasa kept Shipka in mind when he began developing Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. So, when the show's casting director mentioned that Shipka might be interested in playing the teenaged witch, Aguirre-Sacasa began writing the role with Shipka in mind.'^[5]
