Hell is an afterlife dimension where damned souls go when they die and where demons reside. The gates to Hell are located in the Greendale Mines.
History[]
The origin of Hell is disputed between Christian beliefs and satanic witches, who refer to biblical teachings as False God's lies. However, this infernal dimension exists at least from the Fall of the Archangel Lucifer and his dominion over it as Dark Lord. According to Faustus Blackwood, Hell is a place where mortal souls are tormented after death, but witches are excused from such torture because of their services to the Dark Lord during their magically prolonged life.[1]
Before his defeat, Hell was reigned by the Dark Lord who wanted to make Sabrina Spellman the "Proud Lady of Pandemonium, Maiden of Shadows, and Queen of Hell". For this reason, he had blessed Edward and Diana Spellman's marriage, in order to sire a Herald of Hell.
Hell exists in a dimension of its own but can be accessed via supernatural portals called Hell Gates, one of which is found in the depths of the Greendale Mines. The Fright Club prevented this gate from opening until Lilith, the new Queen of Hell, crossed the portal carrying the Dark Lord trapped in Nick's body and closed it behind her. [2]
Another gate exists in the Desecrated Church used by the Church of Night for their gatherings, and accessible through a trap door from which it is possible to have an encounter with the Dark Lord during serious and important events, such as witch trials held by the Unholy Trivium or the Witches' Council.[3][4]

Trivia[]
- Hellfire originated in this dimension and can destroy souls and ghosts even after death.
- The proximity to Hell Gates smells like sulfur.[5]
- Hell is structured according to Dante's Inferno, and divided into Nine Circles.[6]
- Hell is accessible through the Gates under the Greendale Mines or via the hellscape paintings at Dorian's Gray Room. Powerful beings such as Lilith, Sabrina, and Caliban can teleport there.
- According to Faustus Blackwood, when witches swear allegiance to Lucifer, they are exonerated from the sentence of going to hell upon death upon death.
- In Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Hell is based on different literary works:
- Ms. Wardwell references Dante's Inferno, and the spell to enter it directly quotes the inscription on the Gates of Hell – “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here”.
- During the quest to Pandemonium, there are many references to The Wizard of Oz, such as the red trail of blood being a reference to the yellow brick road.
- Dorian Gray agrees to send Sabrina to Hell if she'll bring him le fleur du mal, the original flower of evil that inspired the poet Baudelaire his poetry volume.
