The Fright Club is the nickname for the four characters Sabrina Spellman, Rosalind Walker, Harvey Kinkle, and Theo Putnam. They serve as the main protagonists and heroes on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Additionally, the Fright Club is also a garage band formed by Harvey, Roz, Theo and Robin.

History[]

School Problems[]

Sabrina, Harvey, Theo and Rosalind are a group of childhood friends who grew up in Greendale. Quite outcast by other popular kids at school, the four friends spend most of their time together. One of their favorite activities is going to see horror films at the Paramount and then analyzing and commenting on the film in a booth at Cerberus Books.[1]

When Theo is bullied by some Baxter High Ravens before his transition, and they're using slurs against him, Sabrina and Rosalind take the situation in their hands. Sabrina goes to talk to the principal without much success (he advised Susie to move to another school), and Rosalind came up with the idea of a support group, which they called WICCA, or Women's Intersectional Cultural and Creative Association, sponsored by Ms. Wardwell. Unbeknownst to them, it's actually Madam Satan.[2]

When it's Rosalind who is in trouble at school for proposing the reading of The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, a book deemed unsuitable for school reading by Principal Hawthorne, her three friends came to her rescue. Upon discovering a suspicious list of banned titles from the school bookstore, Roz, Sabrina and Theo turn to the school board and the principal has to give in to their request.[3]

Exorcise your Demons[]

Theo shares the family secret with his friends. His uncle Jesse has been in dire shape ever since he saw something monstrous down in the mines where he worked for Harvey's dad. Sabrina discovers that Theo's uncle is possessed by a demon, but the exorcism kills him. Or so she thinks, deceived by Madam Satan.[4]

Meanwhile, the Weird Sisters take revenge on the Kinkle family when they discover they are descended from witch hunters and Harvey's brother Tommy is killed.[5] Sabrina tries to use magic, but the resurrection only causes more problems. Harvey has to kill his brother a second time, and he breaks up with Sabrina.[6]

Despite their break-up, and later Harvey starting a relationship with Roz, the group remains intact although Sabrina's witchcraft caused an initial rift. Both Roz's blindness and the death of Harvey's brother Tommy were caused by black magic and they initially distanced themselves from Sabrina. Theo reminds them of the importance of their friendship.[7] The group also positively reacts to Theo coming out as trans, and they support him in his transition.[8]

It's Been Hell![]

On the brink of the Apocalypse and the return of the Dark Lord, the four friends take action to fight against him. While Sabrina, her family and Nick use their magic, Roz, Harvey and Theo go deep into the Greendale Mines to prevent the Hell Gates from opening. They later trap Lucifer with team-work and deceit. [9]

With Sabrina's boyfriend Nick trapped in Hell, the four friends decide to go to the Underworld and rescue him. This is also the time when they called themselves "the Fright Club" for the first time. Sabrina, Roz, Harvey and Theo take a journey to Hell where they face their most horrible fears and nightmares before they can bring Nick back.[10]

Fighing the Pagans[]

Meanwhile Harvey, Theo and Roz have started a garage band by covering rock songs. Sabrina, now Queen of Hell, asks for their help in collecting souls of the damned. This is when they face Jimmy Platt, an ice cream truck driver  who kidnaps children. Sabrina and Roz also join the Baxter High Ravenettes, the school cheerleader team.[11]

Phantasmagoria, a carnival, arrives in town and the group decides to go to the fair. Theo asks Robin, a new student, out for a date.[12] The carnival, however, is a cover-up for a coven of Pagans who want to sacrifice the citizens of Greendale to awaken their ancient god, the Green Man.[13] The Fright Club and the witches fight against the Pagans and defeat them after several attempts. They even die but Sabrina rewrites the timeline, accidentally creating a time paradox. Because Robin betrayed the pagans to help his new friends and his new boyfriend, Theo, he is officially invited by Harvey to join their club. [14]
