Elspeth is a recurring character on Netflix Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. She is portrayed by Emily Haine. She is a student at the Academy of Unseen Arts and a supporter of Sabrina‘s vision for the Church of Night. She is one of the witches and warlocks who got saved by the Spellman Family after Father Blackwood tried to poison the entire coven.
Throughout Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Elspeth along with her fellow witches gets brought to the desecrated church by two angelic witch-hunters, bent on the destruction of Greendale's witches. When one of the angels, Jerathmiel, asks Elspeth who her true savior is, she stubbornly replies the Dark Lord. He tells her that she's wrong and wishes her to recite with him and be reborn in God's love. Elspeth remains firm and tells him she would never. Jerathmiel slits Elspeth's throat for her disobedience. After Sabrina burns the angels in hellfire, she brings Elspeth back to life.
Elspeth and Melvin explain how Sabrina slaughtered two Angels and resurrected them. They later join Sabrina and Nicholas at lunch at the Academy, when Elspeth asks what Sabrina & Nicholas we’re talking about Sabrina replies that they we’re talking about her fathers teachings. Elspeth is among the witches who listen to Sabrina’s speech about how her father wanted to reform the Church of Night and that witches should mingle with Mortals, Elspeth replies that this goes against anything that Father Blackwood said, she later attends the Party thrown by Sabrina to intodruce the Witches & Mortals to one another she is seen among the crowd who look up to Sabrina who is standing at the roof. Preparing to reveal the existence of witches to the Mortal guests but before she can show her magic, she is stopped by Harvey who wants to show her something important.
Elspeth and her fellow Academy Students are seen in the foyer, where Father Blackwood anounces that the witches council had turned away from them and that the Church of night will now be the Church of Judas he gives each student a book with the new rules for the academy. Elspeth is later dragged into Father Blackwoods office His Judas Boys inform him that Elspeth fled and that she was searching for Sabrina, Blackwood wants to kill her for that but Prudence and Zelda Talk him out of it because Elspeth‘s death would give the students reasons to rise against him. He instead decides to throw her in the witches cell and let her starve, Zelda later brings her a basket with food and assures her that she will get Elspeth out of the cell one way or another.
Elspeth is seen at the desecrated church where Father Blackwood lies to the Coven, claiming that the Dark Lord has given his unholy blessing for the Church of Judas. He invites the entire Coven to an unholy commoion Elspeth takes a sip from a chalice, which unbeknownst to Elspeth was Poisoned she is later brought to the Spellman Mortuary by Zelda and Ambrose to Save her and the other witches, she ends up being one of the few remaining members of the Church of Night.
Elspeth is of medium height with a petite physique. She has wavy, short brown hair, clear skin, brown eyes, and a delicate figure.
Elspeth is a a tenaciously brave, rebellious, and confidant witch who fights for what she believes in. She’s an independent thinker and has no problems standing up to the Witch-hunters or Father Blackwood. After being resurrected by Sabrina Spellman, she starts to admire her and follow her example of living.
