• The role is Sprouse's first in five years, following him attending university.
• He played the leading role of Cody on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005–2008) and The Suite Life on Deck (2008–2011).
• He has an identical twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, with whom he has shared a role as Julian McGrath in Big Daddy (1999).
• Cole and Camila Mendes attended New York University (NYU) at the same time. They saw each other at parties, but never spoke.
• He is dating Lili Reinhart, who is conveniently his character's girlfriend.
• Cole shares the same birthday as his former fellow cast member Emilija Baranac.
