Trivia

• At the Comic-con roundtable for the second season, in 2018, Ashleigh Murray and Casey Cott said they were hoping for a storyline and attention to their characters.
• While promoting Katy Keene, Ashleigh recounted how her character had no way to thrive in Riverdale. Criminal and serial killer plots didn't suit Josie very much, while she hoped she could do it in Katy Keene, a show more suited to her and Josie.
• Ashleigh described Josie's journey and her own acting journey as very different from Riverdale's.
• Discussing her hopes and dream for Josie's feature, Ashleigh mentioned moving to New York City, but she had no say in the actual spin-off. It was a coincidence.
• Unlike Riverdale, Ashleigh appreciated that in Katy Keene she got to see Josie's evolution and individuality alongside the other co-stars.
• She shares her birthday with Katy Keene co-star Zane Holtz.
• Ashleigh Murray and Vanessa Morgan, who portrays Toni Topaz, spoke about the sidelining of black characters in both Riverdale and the film industry in general.
  • Vanessa Morgan responded to a tweet claiming her co-star was written off the show for being a "diva" who "didn't want to share the screen with other talented women" After dismissing the accusations, she added that "Maybe the show should write for her like the white characters".
  • Ashleigh retweeted Vanessa's statement, adding that she "love the Pussycats more than any show ever did. If it were up to me, we'd have our own show." She also dismissed the claim, pointing at her co-stars in Katy Keene.
