Absolute Darkness in Greendale[]
Ambrose is in the kitchen reading one of the existentialists, and says good morning to Sabrina. Aunt Zelda is at the Academy of Unseen Arts, Aunt Hilda at Dr. Cee's. Sabrina invites Ambrose to go to the Paramount for a horror movie, but Ambrose refuses because there are too many people. And as Satre says, "Hell is other people". Unless it's just Hell, Sabrina replies.
On his way to the Academy, Ambrose crosses paths with a miner, who is smashing the railroad lights. Ambrose pulls out his hand and orders the miner to desist.
The Order of Hecate is gathered in the Great Hall at the Academy of Unseen Arts, where a statue of the Triple Goddess has been erected in place of that of the Dark Lord. Zelda informs the coven that they are now following the Dark Mother and will be named a Maiden, Mother and Crone in her honor. This year the roles are filled by Prudence, Hilda and Zelda herself, respectively.
In the library, Sabrina tells her cousin that she wants to meet Sabrina Morningstar in Hell but Ambrose strongly advises against it. The simple fact of the coexistence of the two Sabrinas is already in itself a temporal paradox and their come into contact could precipitate a cataclysm. A further temporal distortion in which the timelines begin to overlap. Or the other might dominate theirs. Any curiosity Sabrina has about her Morningstar double, she'll have to keep it to herself.
The following day, the Spellmans discuss the spectral miner that invaded the Academy. Zelda suspects it was merely someone who perished in the mines and is back to cause trouble, though she notes that the miner projected her own thoughts and fears back at her, as if it could read her mind. Sabrina adds that the miner she saw made the mortuary sign burn out, whereas the one Ambrose saw by the train tracks at the Academy was swinging a pickaxe at lampposts. The phone rings suddenly rings. Hilda reveals that they have three bodies coming in from the coroner’s office. Each having died from mysterious circumstances.
In the embalming room, Ambrose performs an autopsy on the three corpses while Salem watches aside. The first victim's bones were crushed to powder. The second victim died from carbon monoxide poisoning, and the last one seemingly starved to death. Salem reminds Ambrose of the Kinkle Mines disaster of 1949 - a cave-in, where some of the miners were crushed by rocks, others from poisonous fumes, and the remaining from starvation. And they all died gruesome deaths in the dark.
Later, Ambrose discusses necromancy with Nick when they are interrupted by Sabrina. She reminds them of Tommy Kinkle's disastrous resurrection, but this time it will be a different thing. They will use necromancy for a quick interrogation. One minute top. The three witches use a Macedonian incantation to raise the three corpses, which warn the witches of the coming, never-ending, and absolute Darkness that has killed them. Ambrose recalls Father Blackwood mentioning the Eldritch Terrors and his plan to release them. They have to find the source. Nick recalls the miners' sightings and suspects that they’re merely avatars of the Darkness, meaning the source is in the mines. In Ambrose's attic, Nick watches over Ambrose and Sabrina astral projecting to the cave where the 1949 disaster took place. There, they find the miners standing around a pool of darkness. Sabrina can literally feel the hopelessness, despair, and loneliness. Sabrina and Ambrose return to their bodies to find that Prudence has joined them. If they are indeed facing an Eldritch Terror, then that would mean her father di lei is near. The lights in the mortuary then flicker out completely.
They devise a plan. Nick will go with the Fright Club (Harvey, Roz, Theo, and Robin) to create a diversion for the avatars, Prudence from the coven to amplify the spell against the Darkness, while Ambrose and Sabrina will summon the Morningstar bright in the heart of Darkness. Unbeknownst to the others, Sabrina plans to ask Sabrina Morningstar for help to cast the spell.
Ambrose warns the two Sabrinas that prolonged exposure to the Darkness is lethal — death by despair. Sabrina Morningstar volunteers to enter first into the heart of Darkness. Unfortunately, she succumbs and Sabrina is forced to join her. While in the heart of absolute darkness, both Sabrinas struggle to invoke their Morningstar bright. Ambrose telepathically warns Prudence of the problem, and the entire coven redirects their power to help Sabrina. They manage to defeat the Darkness, trapping it in a large transparent orb now filled with a substance similar to black tar. Ambrose is amazed that somehow the two of them managed to trap an Eldritch Terror.[1]
Identifying the Eldritch Terrors[]
The family is gathered in the sitting room, with Hilda explaining to her sister that she wants a simple wedding with family and close friends in the parlor. And they can all wear their favorite Halloween costume. Zelda refuses. She's the High Priestess of the Order of Hecate, and she will officiate the wedding. They can have the reception at Dorian's Gray Room. And they also need to deal with the Incubus inside Dr. Cerberus. The phone rings, interrupting their conversation. Hilda answers and informs Ambrose that the coroner’s office is bringing over a handful of bodies.
In the embalming room, Ambrose performs post-mortem on the five corpses (all with their hearts ripped off their chest) and Salem points out that they probably saw their killer. With a bit of necromancy, Ambrose pluck the eyes out of the corpses and develops the latest images seen as if they were photographs. Sabrina calls him from the top of the stairs, asking if they can go down. Ambrose agrees, as long as her friends aren't squeamish. Sabrina, Harvey, and Roz show Ambrose the drawings Harvey made last night, and Ambrose believes they are premonitions of the coming Eldritch Terrors. When Roz sees the photos, she recognizes the man as the homeless man she and Harvey hosted last night. Touching Mrs. Anderson's corpse, Roz has a vision of her final moment of her — she turned him away and he ripped her heart out for being heartless. Ambrose assumes it is the Uninvited, and surmises they can use the other drawings to identify the remaining six.
Ambrose then informs Zelda that the Uninvited has arrived in Greendale, with six other Eldritch Terrors waiting in the wings. Zelda refuses to cancel the wedding, however, they will safeguard against the terror as well as the rogue incubus that Nick and Melvin failed to exorcise.
At the Desecrated Church, Ambrose passes out photos of the Uninvited to Sabrina, Nick, Melvin, Prudence, Dorian, and Zelda. Should he show up at the wedding, they’re to offer him a seat. However, all other strangers are not to enter.
At the reception, Sabrina gives a speech completely drunk on gin, embarrassing everyone. Before she can cause more damage, a mysterious guest announces the end of time. After Ambrose and Roz realize that he’s the Uninvited, Dorian approaches and asks him to leave. Instead, he rips Dorian’s heart from his chest. Prudence notes that Dorian was immortal, meaning he shouldn’t be able to die. Ambrose explains that immortal doesn’t mean indestructible. He then points towards Dorian’s portrait, which now mimics his death as blood runs down the painting. As the bride, Hilda extends the invitation to the Uninvited, but he says it's too late. Nick says he was the one who chased him away, and opens his shirt offering his heart to be ripped off as punishment as long as he leaves the others alone. Sabrina, however, intervenes with an invitation to a wedding in Hell where the Eldritch Terror will not be rejected as her guest. Sabrina then teleport them both to Hell, leaving everyone in suspense of what's to come.
Hilda, Zelda, Ambrose, Mambo Marie, and Dr. Cerberus return to the mortuary to find that Sabrina is well. She explains that the Uninvited is trapped in the yellow room, which has been sealed with a binding spell. Ambrose wants to interrogate him to find out more about the terror to come. Hilda says that this can wait until tomorrow. For now, she wants to have the small wedding in their parlor that she had imagined — only close family and friends with everyone dressed as classic horror movie monsters.[2]
It's Getting Weirder[]
In the embalming room, Ambrose performs an autopsy on a drowned corpse. However, the lividity marks pooled on his upper chest indicate that there’s a great deal of salt water in his lungs. Distracted by a phone call, Ambrose doesn't notice the parasite coming out of the corpse and sneaking into the pipes.
The next morning, Sabrina joins Ambrose and Salem in the kitchen where he is preparing the presentation on the Eldritch Terrors to be held in front of the coven. Meanwhile, Zelda is lost without Hilda in the house and has no idea how to make coffee or where her lighter is.
At the Desecrated Church, Ambrose explains that the Eldritch Terrors are ancient entities that pre-date recorded time and space. They existed before primitive concepts of good and evil. They are inhuman and unkillable, as well as world destroying. However, thanks to Harvey and Roz, they have been given prophetic clues as to the terrors yet to come. Prudence proceeds to pass Harvey's prophetic drawings, while Ambrose explains how thanks to Roz's visions they were able to identify the remaining six Eldritch Terrors. Prudence believes Blackwood is behind all this, and that he must be killed on sight. Melvin asks if the Dark Mother will protect them, however, Ambrose admits that there isn’t much they or the Dark Mother can do.
A few days later, Sabrina discovers that her tongue is covered in suction cups and that she has ink sacks on her palms, similar to that of a squid. Sabrina shares this with Ambrose, who reveals that the most recent corpse to be brought in shows the same systems in addition to three hearts, ammonia for blood, and softened bones. He was essentially turning into a squid-human hybrid. Ambrose suspects that she’s the current host to the Weird, which is a parasitic entity resembling Mollusca Cephalopoda Octopoda. Ambrose believes that the Weird snuck in using the corpse as a Trojan horse in order to get to Sabrina. Ambrose then uses Sweeney’s butcher paper to take a snapshot of Sabrina’s insides, similar to a CAT scan. The paper shows the Weird hiding amongst Sabrina’s intestines. With no other choice, Ambrose must cut Sabrina open. He has eyes on it momentarily before it retreats further into Sabrina.
Failing this first attempt, Ambrose surmises that the Weird One needs a particular host and if they make Sabrina inhospitable, they will be expelled. Ambrose calls Sycorax, the witch who can manipulate water, to dehydrate Sabrina. This procedure Sycorax is about to perform is not without risk. If Sabrina loses too much water too quickly, her organs could shut down and she could die of dehydration. Nick is also present, to make sure Sabrina is safe. Sycorax performs her spell calling on the naiads, water nymphs, causing Sabrina to vomit a squid-like parasite into a metal basket.
While performing an autopsy on the parasite, Ambrose realizes their plan didn't work and rushes to Baxter High, where he manages to knock out a possessed Sabrina before she forces the class to slit their throats with a scalpel. Sabrina wakes up at the morgue, where Ambrose tells her that until then she had been puppetteered by the Weird. While they had expelled the parasite physically, the Weird had now dented and merged their consciousnesses. Ambrose, therefore, proposes another dangerous procedure.
With the help of Pesta, the plague witch, they will expel the parasite once and for all by infecting Sabrina's brain with every disease known to human and witch-kind. While Pesta rots Sabrina 's brain, she must fixate on a mantra that is unique to her di lei. Nick joins them again. While Pesta rots Sabrina's brain, Sabrina sings "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." Before long, the consciousness of the Weird flees from Sabrina’s brain and finds a new host — an octopus in Ambrose’s fish tank, which he then freezes.
Later, Ambrose takes another scan of Sabrina, who appears to be all clear. She recalls the Weird telling her that she was a vessel waiting to be filled, and she admits that it was right. She has been feeling empty and lost, but she’s been trying to fill herself with the wrong thing.[3]
Perverted Greendale[]
The Spellman are celebrating at their home with Dr. Cee, Mambo Marie, Salem, and Vinegar Tom. Sabrina signed for student president and wants to make progressive updates at Baxter Hight.
Deprived of all memory by Father Blackwood's wish, Ambrose lives oblivious to the real world, his family and the coven. With the front door marked with a "W" for witch, Ambrose decides to leave town and loads boxes of books into his hearse when two girls approach him. One of them says she is his cousin, Sabrina. Ambrose denies knowing her and being a witch. Sabrina informs him that they’re trapped in the Perverse’s perverted reality, but he leaves.
Ambrose is driving towards the Greendale border, wondering if Emperor Blackwood's warnings of an apocalyptic world outside town are real or fictional. Gained courage, he crosses the border and his memories begin to surface again. Here he meets the Trinket Man, a salesman who confirms Sabrina's own story. Ambrose, then, realizes that Blackwood must have wished to reshape the universe with the Imp of the Perverse, one of the Eldritch Terrors. The Trinket Man explains that the Imp still has its impish ways. While there’s only one Imp of the Perverse, the man does have another item Ambrose might be interested in, that being the Stone of Omphalos. The same stone that Cronus swallowed, creating the center of the universe, making it the stone of reality, which can therefore be used to restore reality. The Trinket Man gives Ambrose the stone free of charge, however, the moment Ambrose crosses the border, his mind will pervert again. He’ll have 30 seconds of lucidity before the warping wish takes effect again. Ambrose needs a way to find Sabrina as quickly as possible and relay the message before his memory is warped again. Robin, who had already retrieved his memory when he run away from the soldiers, arrives and offers to help.
Robin and Ambrose arrive at Cerberus Bookshop, where a group of reactionaries led by Hilda have been briefed by Sabrina about the perverted reality. Ambrose tells them about the Stone of Omphalos, but while he is explaining, he loses his memories again because he's exposed to the perverted world. Now they have no idea how they could swallow the Stone to regain memory. Hilda then proposes to prepare a soup with the stone as in some folk tales. After everyone has a cup of stone soup, the resistance plot their next move to destroy the Imp and save everyone. Agatha explains that Blackwood travels with the Imp. Their best bet is to destroy it tomorrow at the executions. Sabrina will create a distraction while Ambrose blasts the Imp with his wand.
The following day, Blackwood holds the executions at the Desecrated Church, where Nick is restrained to one table while Roz is restrained to another. Theo and Agatha are bound by their hands and under heavy guard. Before the executions, Blackwood wants to hear an actual witch confession and orders Prudence to begin the stoning. She places a wooden board on top of Nick and piles large stones on top of him like was done to Giles Corey during the Salem witch trials. From the crowd, Sabrina confesses to being a witch. While Blackwood is distracted, Ambrose destroys the Imp, but it is merely a replica. Sabrina then takes the reality stone and throws it at Blackwood’s head, accusing him of being a witch. The Order of Hecate join Sabrina and trap Blackwood in place. When Judas and Judith attempt to intervene, Melvin and Lilith hold them at bay. Blackwood looks to Harvey for help. Instead, Harvey knocks out the executioner. Agatha and Sabrina explain to Prudence that they’re trapped in a warped reality and that no one hates Blackwood more than her. Ambrose added that he’s sorry for stopping her from killing Blackwood back when they were in Scotland. Roz and Mambo Marie then look to Prudence for answers as to how they can end this reality. Prudence reveals that they have to wish on the Imp not destroy it. The real Imp is kept in a safe at Dorian’s. So, Robin races to Dorian’s to retrieve the Imp. He eventually manages to unlock the safe after many combination attempts to the point of his fingertips being bruised and bloody. Sabrina wishes on the Imp for the world to be restored but nothing happens. Roz, Prudence, and Mambo Marie, the Weird Sisters, reveal that this Imp is also a false idol before Sabrina realizes that Anubis is the Imp. She places her hand over the dog and wishes the world back to normal.
Sabrina, Zelda, Hilda, Ambrose, Nick, and Mambo Marie gather in the cellar, where Prudence has placed Blackwood’s decapitated head on a plate because she can’t kill him due to him having the Mark of Cain. Prudence also reveals that she brought back the Imp and Agatha.[4]
Cosmically Terrorized[]
In the cell room, Ambrose implores Blackwood to reveal the identity of the next Eldritch Terror, but he refuses to tell Ambrose anything of use. So, Prudence decides to pry the information from him via her psychic abilities, but he has locked the contents of his mind away in a safe.
Sabrina asks Ambrose to repair the Astronomy Club’s telescope, but he’s more concerned about the Eldritch Terrors, which Sabrina doesn’t seem to be as concerned with. He in fact admires her ability to compartmentalize. Sabrina then tells Ambrose about Nick attending Baxter High and the subsequent earthquake, which Ambrose had no knowledge of.
Sabrina heads down into the mortuary where a statue from Hell has arisen from the ground beneath. Ambrose wonders the cause, though he doesn’t think it’s an Eldritch Terror necessarily.
Sabrina and Ambrose meet Mambo Marie in the Observatory to discover that the Mortal Realm and the Infernal Realm are pushing together. Ambrose reveals that this is the result of two Sabrinas existing simultaneously. Now the two realms are falling into each other to crush one or both Sabrinas. Sabrina admits that Ambrose is right and agrees to tell the aunties. He's later scolded by Aunt Zelda as soon as she discovers he knew about the two Sabrinas, and wonders how it was possible that a sixteen year old girl forced a 134-year-old-man to lie.
The Spellmans and the Morningstars sit down to discuss the impending collision of Hell and Earth. Ambrose explains that chaos begets chaos. A chain reaction has begun that won’t stop until the two realms crush each other. Lucifer suggests killing one of the Sabrinas. Ambrose isn’t sure that would fix the problem. They need to do more than stop the collision. The need to push the two worlds away from each other. Having eavesdropped from the hallway, Nick comes up with a plan. The mortal realm has a magnetic field, as does Hell. If they could reverse the realms’ polarities, they’d start repelling each other.
Sabrina Spellman, Zelda, Hilda, and Nick stand at the epicenter of Hell while Sabrina Morningstar, Lucifer, and Caliban stand at the epicenter of the mortal realm. Ambrose and Mambo Marie watch from the Observatory as the others summon their opposing energies. Ambrose and Mambo Marie continue to examine the two colliding realms. Unfortunately, they are too enmeshed, similar to conjoined twins. Ambrose fears that they might end up destroying both realms and orders the Order of Hecate and the Morningstars to stop the invocation.
Melvin reveals to the Spellmans and the Morningstars that it is raining pearls. Ambrose realizes that these pearls come from the pearly gates, meaning that the celestial realm is falling on top of them. Metatron, an angel from Heaven, arrives. Lucifer explains that Metatron is of the highest Celestial Order, as close to the False God as he once was. Metatron represents Order and there is an unprecedented amount of chaos in the Cosmos, so they've come with a solution to restore order. For the Cosmos to survive, one Sabrina must die or merge together as one.
After contemplating the pros and cons, the two Sabrinas agree to the merge but want time to get their affairs in order, for Morningstar to spend her last moments with her friends and for Spellman to spend some time with Nick. Ambrose doesn’t support this decision but there’s no other way. Sabrina asks Ambrose if he can still repair the telescope and give it to Roz. It will be her legacy at Baxter High. Metatron then grants Sabrina Spellman and Morningstar six hours before the merge.
Ambrose fulfills Sabrina’s final request and repairs the telescope, during which time he makes a startling discovery.
Metatron begins the merging ritual, but Ambrose interrupts to inform Zelda and Hilda that there are three new realms approaching, on a collision course with their own. They are the next Eldritch Terror, bearing down upon them, causing these tremors, promising their extinction. They are horrors from the stars, otherwise known as the Cosmic. Ambrose and Lucifer accuse Metatron of knowing and withholding this information from them. Metatron admits this is true. Had they known of the duplicate cosmos, there was an 83% chance that they would’ve tried to preserve both Sabrinas lives, with the probability of that being successful being just above 0%. Metatron insists that the merge must proceed or else the rogue cosmos will destroy their three realms. Nick asks for the probability of the merge succeeding, which is only at 56%. The Spellmans and the Morningstars work together to prevent Metatron from completing the merge and snap their neck.
Ambrose and Mambo Marie explain that there are three duplicate realms approaching their own. The existence of two Sabrinas in their cosmos has brought about the existence of a parallel cosmos that is being pulled towards theirs by the two Sabrinas. They could avert this deadly impact and cause the Eldritch cosmos to dissipate by sending one Sabrina from their earth to the other earth. Zelda and Lucifer argue over which Sabrina will go to the other Earth. Spellman and Morningstar have decided to settle this with Rock, Paper, Scissors, a game that Spellman wins, and so Morningstar must go to the other Earth.
Sabrina Morningstar kisses Caliban goodbye and tells him to honor her promise to her. She then says goodbye to Spellman. Morningstar asks Ambrose what the other universe will be like. If not an exact copy, it’ll be at least very close to their own. Ambrose and Nick then open up a portal in a mirror and send her through.[5]
The Returned[]
At the Observatory, Ambrose reveals that the other cosmos is still coming at them. It’s a longer process that can't just vanish overnight, he explains, so it will take time to know for certain. Sabrina blames herself for the second cosmos, but Prudence points out that it was her father who released the Eldritch Terrors.
At home, the Spellmans hear scraping on the door. It's Vinegar Tom, Zelda's familiar returned from the dead. Mambo Marie warns them about this omen. The lèmò, the resurrected dead, had returned and this was a sign of the arrival of the Returned, the latest of the Eldritch Terrors. More deaths will arise. They will not remember everything nor will they remember they’ve died. She warns the Spellmans against upsetting the dead or else bad things will happen. The dead have an avatar, one Mambo Marie must face alone.
On a lighter note, Sabrina meets with Nick, Prudence, and Ambrose to plot against Satanic Panic, a metal band raised from Hell, as she fears the Fright Club is no match. Satanic Panic wants revenge on Greendale for how they burned. Sabrina suspects that Peggy Lou Simcox would also want revenge and intends to use her against the hell-bound band.
At the Gates of Hell, the four of them arrive after summoning Peggy Lou Simcox and submit themselves as a last minute entry in the Battle of the Bands as "The Dark Mothers", and perform Sweet Child O’ Mine. Peggy Lou Simcox arrives at the Gates of Hell and burns Satanic Panic alive while the Dark Mothers perform on stage. The Dark Mothers are the clear victor, and Mr. Kinkle is released from the cage.
Later that night, Ambrose is with his family on the front porch. Mambo Marie leads the dead back into their graves, including Mrs. Kosgrove, Elspeth, Dorcas Night, and Edward Spellman. Mambo Marie then changes appearances, and becomes a man with a skull-painted face, top hat and a coat. Her true form, Baron Samedi, Haitian loa of the dead. Baron looks over to Zelda. As a goodbye gift, he allows Vinegar Tom to remain with Zelda.[6]
Goodbye, Sabrina[]
After learning of Sabrina Morningstar’s death, Ambrose reports to Zelda and Hilda that the three orbs of the parallel cosmos have been consumed by the Void. And now it’s on its way to destroy them, Sabrina adds. Ambrose proposes they go to the Academy’s Observatory to see what’s happening.
Hilda, Zelda, Ambrose, Nick, Prudence, and Agatha gather in the Observatory, where a wall labeled 'the Void' has seemingly appeared out of thin air. Salem arrives moments after to inform them of Sabrina’s plan to stop the Void with Pandora's Box. They teleport to the mortuary to find that they’re too late to stop her. They try teleporting her back by force, but the Void interferes.
Hilda, Zelda, Ambrose, and Nick head into the embalming chamber, where Sabrina Morningstar’s body lays. The plan is to pull Sabrina’s soul from the Void and place it in Morningstar’s body. This unfortunately prevents Sabrina from completely trapping the Void, leaving both her body and Pandora’s Box behind. Sabrina is upset and explains that she nearly successfully trapped the Void. Prudence then calls them back to the Observatory, where the Void wall has disappeared. They conclude that Sabrina must’ve defeated the final terror.
On October 31st, Sabrina comes downstairs, where Ambrose and Hilda wish her a happy birthday. Hilda accuses Vinegar Tom of eating her first stack of pancakes, but both Zelda and Vinegar Tom insist that he did no such thing.
Sabrina is surrounded by her friends and family for her birthday, this includes her aunts, her cousin, Nick, Prudence, Agatha, Melvin, Roz, Harvey, Theo, and Robin. As Sabrina blows out the candles on her cake, it disappears before their eyes. A horn sounds and just outside the Spellman mortuary stands the Dark Lord and Caliban with a demon army.
Lucifer asks if it’s true that Sabrina Morningstar is dead and that Sabrina Spellman occupies her body. Sabrina admits this is true. Lucifer commands Sabrina to hand herself over. Zelda orders Sabrina to come inside, but Sabrina would rather face the threat ahead of her and agrees to go along with Lucifer willingly. He commands Sabrina to bind herself, preventing her from performing magic. As Sabrina walks towards Lucifer, Ambrose ups his wand, which Caliban takes as a form of treachery and orders his legion to attack. They charge towards Sabrina. When she motions towards them, they mysteriously disappear. When his entire legion is taken, Caliban charges towards Sabrina himself, and he is sent away as well. All that remains is Mr. Kinkle, who while under the possession of a demon, charges at Sabrina too. Harvey calls out to her and tells her to wait, but Sabrina unintentionally sends him away as well. Lucifer then flees after having lost his entire army in a matter of moments.
Back in the house, everyone is shocked by what happened. Harvey demands Sabrina brings back his dad, while others are concerned about her powers. Ambrose has scanned Sabrina’s body and reveals to her and Nick that her body is completely empty, essentially meaning that she is the Void. When they sucked her soul into Sabrina Morningstar’s body, they must’ve sucked some of the Void into her as well. Sabrina starts to cry and teleports away as she doesn’t wish to hurt anyone else.
Ambrose and Nick are left with the unfortunate task of reporting Sabrina’s abandonment and the fact that she is the Void and fled to protect them. Hilda questions what they will do when they find Sabrina and what’s to prevent her from accidentally zapping them away like Harvey’s dad. Nick wants to finish what they started by trapping the Void in Pandora’s box. They do this by finding Sabrina’s real body, which Nick can track with the locket he gave her using a divination spell. Zelda mentions that he would freeze in space given the lack of atmosphere. Nick retorts that his body had been forged in the flames of Hell when he was being used as a flesh Acheron. Though, breathing outer space would be a problem. Ambrose suggests using the Weird’s body, enchanting it and turning it into an Eldritch oxygen mask.
Two weeks later, with help from Salem, Ambrose, Roz, Prudence, and Agatha manage to track Sabrina down to the Mountains of Madness, where they first encounter Blackwood. He informs Ambrose that the mountain is a holy place, and therefore, his wand won’t work. He then invites them inside the temple to see Sabrina, who looks battered and has taken a vow of silence in service of withholding the Void. Sabrina is the only thing standing in between them and the Void. She must not move nor waver, lest the cracks tear her apart. When Ambrose begins to question Blackwood’s motives, as he clearly doesn’t care about Sabrina, Prudence, Roz, and Agatha combine their psychic abilities to get a look inside his mind. They discover that Blackwood is looking for the rest of the Void. He plans to bring it together with the Void inside Sabrina and rip it out of her, consume it and claim its power for himself. They realize that they’re sitting at a sacrificial altar and warn Sabrina, but she refuses to leave. So, the Weird Sisters try to force her to leave, which causes Sabrina to send Roz and Prudence away. Ambrose and Agatha flee with their lives. Sabrina tells him that she will see him again at the end and sends him a telepathic message.
Ambrose and Agatha report their loss to Zelda, Hilda, Harvey, Theo, and Robin. However, the trip wasn’t a complete loss. They know of Blackwood’s plan, which he intends to carry out in three days on the winter solstice. Sabrina told Ambrose via telepathy exactly when they should return to her: at the precise moment when Blackwood intends to sacrifice Sabrina, when the poles of the Earth are furthest away from the sun, and the Void is controllable. Nick then returns with Sabrina Spellman's body and Pandora’s Box, which they will use to extract the remainder of the Void from within Sabrina.
Zelda, Hilda, Ambrose, Nick, Agatha, Harvey, Theo, and Robin arrive at the Mountain of Madness in three days' time and stop Blackwood just as he is about to sacrifice Sabrina. In exchange for Sabrina, they bring him all the terrors they’ve managed to capture, from the Darkness to Pandora’s box, containing the Void. Ambrose hands over Pandora’s box, which in reality, is a mystery box rigged with gunpowder, which explodes in Blackwood’s eyes upon opening it, leaving him blind. They free Sabrina, but she explains that the sacrifice still must happen as planned. Over the last six weeks, she’s gotten a crash course on everything related to the Void from Blackwood, including how to defeat it. Blackwood wanted to drain the Void out of Sabrina into an ancient containment field. Once it was inside, Blackwood hoped he would be able to consume it himself. Blackwood also told Sabrina where to find the people she made disappear. They’re inside the Void. Zelda will have to cut Sabrina open in order to drain the Void from her and open the gateway long enough for Ambrose and Harvey to go inside it and retrieve everyone with the exception of Caliban. Sabrina also suggests taking the other Eldritch Terrors into the Void to dispose of them forever. Zelda questions how long are they supposed to keep the bloodletting of Sabrina going. She replies with as long as it takes, which could be until death. Sabrina needs Nick to go into the Void too but with Pandora’s box. Once everyone is out, he has to draw in what’s left of the Void and shut the box before he’s pulled in.
Ambrose ties an unbreakable Gordian rope around Theo and Robin. Ambrose, Nick, and Harvey will hold onto it as they venture into the Void so that they can find their way back. Nick then tells Sabrina that he loves her and gives her one last kiss before the sacrifice.
Zelda cuts Sabrina to start the bloodletting. Her blood is white, similar to the Void's emptiness. While everyone is rescued from the portal, a Banshee appears to signal Sabrina's death. She has bled out completely, leaving her friends and family in tears.
Zelda, Hilda, and Ambrose hold a funeral for Sabrina Spellman and Morningstar. The entire Order of Hecate is in attendance, as well as Lilith, Harvey, Theo, and Robin. Zelda and Hilda place a flower at each of their graves and ask Hecate to guide them into the afterlife.[7]
