I think if the pandemic hadn’t happened and this was aired back in may, I think this would have been quite a good finale. I really enjoyed it.
My heart broke for Jughead. When FP told Jughead that he won’t need him anymore, my heart just sank a bit more. His facial expression proved that he always needs his dad around. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you always need a parent around. His reaction to Betty when she told him about the kiss and the growing distance between them; when he had to leave the Copper’s house and moved into Archies for a little bit but then ended up in the bunker, and when he was the only one that stuck to the vow to meet up at Pops a year later and every year after that. Although I don’t get how he only got mad at Betty and not at Archie. They were both at fault.
I was not expecting Cheryl and Toni to break up like this and Cheryl not going to college. It was nice to see Toni’s grandmother come around, but only for them to break up.
And I loved the flashback they did of Fred. That was unexpected, but really touching. I did shed a tear there. It was beautiful.
