I think you’re forgetting about the fact that Cheryl’s dad killed her brother and then killed Himself, She had a mentally and kind of physically abusive mother, She almost got sexually assaulted, she tried to commit suicide, she was sent to a conversion camp, and her mom and uncle tried to kill her multiple times.
