They could, but I highly doubt they're dumb enough to move forward with such a plan. They're not replacing the main cast 8 seasons into a show. You bring up TVD. The whole reason that ended was bc Ian wasn't gonna continue without Kat. Replacing a fraction of your main cast that far into a show is not a feasible option. The ratings on RD are already low as is. The only thing keeping most fans around are the major ships, like Barchie and the possible reunion of Bughead. If the core four exit, or even half of the core four, let's say Cole and Lili in this case, then the show is done. I say Cole and Lili bc Cole doesn't even promote the show anymore and Lili passive aggressively trashes the show in every other interview.
